Copper rod and wire welds’ influence on drawing performance

$15.00

To assure the continuity of the drawing process of copper rod, the raw material on coils, and the pre-drawn wires on baskets or spools are welded in front of the drawing machines. Two processes are the most common: hot resistance butt welding and cold pressure welding. Both need stringent follow-up by skilled operators. Bad welding causes breaks during drawing. This paper will give a survey of the experience in this field.
