Description
This paper will examine the critical factors to consider when establishing a new factory for steel reinforcement fabric “mesh” or upgrading an existing one. The need for exactly defining market objectives, the options and merits of different input materials, manufacturing routes, factory layouts, and handling systems will be discussed. Since most modern lines are one- or, at most, two-man operations, the handling and processing of input materials, the packaging, transportation, storage, and loading of completed products must be seriously considered.
