Description
In Japan, research on high strength bolts for friction grip joints used in civil engineering and construction has been carried out since the 1960s. Recently, the demand for high strength bolts for automotive applications has increased due to the need for improved fuel economy which leads to clean exhaust emissions. High tensile strength steels have a problem of delayed fracture when the tensile strength exceeds a point around 1200N/MM . The delayed fracture phenomenon is highly influenced by environmental conditions.
