Design of tools for application of corrugated steel laminated tape armor for fiber optic cables

$15.00

The basic development of fiber optical cables can be considered complete, but the manufacturing technology still has challenges. One such area is the application of corrugated steel laminated tape armor, the topic of this report, which focuses on the design of non-commercialized equipment for this purpose. This paper reviews the common principles of corrugated tape’s formation and the different types of instruments for all stages–including cones, rollers, pilots, etc.–as well as advantages and shortcomings. Methods and basic equations for calculations are presented.
