The authors tested 3 heats for 3 different suppliers of high carbon wire rod produced by cold drawing. They performed an automatic SEM analysis, a chemical analysis of the silico- aluminate inclusions, and microanalysis to evaluate the types and frequency of breaks occuring. Included in the analysis was an EDS classification.
