Determination of draw stresses and residual stresses in drawn wire

This work analyzes the extent of plastic zones in drawn wire during its coiling on the drum of the drawing bench in regard to drawing conditions and yield strength. Subsequently, the value of a bending moment during the wire coiling was determined for one-sided and two-sided wire yielding, taking into account the shifting of the wire neutral axis. Solving a set of equations of moments, equilibrium and equilibrium of stresses helps determine draw stresses.
