Determination of mechanical and technological properties of wires for production of crimped screens

This work analyzes the possibility of improving the durability of crimped screens by an application of steel grades D55 and D65 with higher tensile strength. Screens with a size of a square side from 2 to 16 mm made from 1.1 to 4.5 mm diameter wires were used in the study. Results of those investigations show the correct selection of wires with precisely chosen properties for the production of crimped screens.
