Determination of scale amount on wire of carbon steels and low alloyed steels

$15.00

The steel wire family is very diversified, directed to many applications and with steels of different compositions. Common to them all is that the raw material, the wire rod, is manufactured in a hot rolling process, giving a scale of iron oxides on the wire rod surface. This scale, its thickness, its adherence and its composition depend on steel type, as well as laying temperature and cooling rate after rolling.
