Development of Automatic Finishing Line (AFL) for Wire Rod

$15.00

One of the bottlenecks in quality assurance of wire rod for valve spring is that there is no practical means to detect and remove the surface defects of wire rod in full length. To solve this problem, the new line has been developed in which uncoiled wire rod is subject to eddy current test and only the parts of the surface defects are removed automatically. This development consists of (1) Installation of an appropriate tester which can detect flaws over 0.05mm in depth. (2) Development of special device which can shave only the parts of defects. (3) Development of process computer system which can recognize the depth and location of the flaw.
