Development of direct drawing rod for prestressed concrete

$15.00

Kawasaki Steel Corp., Mizushima Works Kawasaki Steel of Japan has developed a new and cost effective method of manufacturing direct patenting wire rod for prestressed concrete which does not require a diffusion annealed bloom or lead patenting treatment before drawing. Changes included a low temperature casting of the bloom, using a larger mold size, applying a new stelmor process which applies a high cooling ratio and consequently lowers the carbon and managanese contents.
