The development of a method for producing electroformed copper clad steel wire for use by the telephone industry is discussed. The equipment is described and plant layout is diagrammed. Copper-steel conductors produced mechanically and by the new electroformation method are compared in photomicrographs with regard to physical characteristics and economy.
