Description
This paper describes the recent collaborative work between Corus and Bridon, which has culminated in the development of the next generation of high-strength wire for such diverse applications as mooring cables and anchor lines for offshore oil rigs, aerial spun bridge wire, structural stay cables, and mine-works roof bolts. It describes the initial laboratory simulations on experimental casts, along with the subsequent small-scale proving trials, which culminate in the processing of full-scale commercial casts.
