Development test results of wire rope lubricants in cyclic corrosion environment

$15.00

Performance of wire ropes in marine and industrial applications is radically influenced by the use environment. This paper reviews the development of cyclic corrosion test protocols and protection provided by wire rope lubricants. The study combines the effect of tensile stress, bending stress and cyclic corrosion exposure on the strength of wire segments. The types of corrosion activity present along failure surfaces, rate of change in tensile strength and the effects will be presented.
