Developments in on-site Nitrogen Supply: Membrane with Deoxygenation

$15.00

he recent rapid development of membrane nitrogen supply technology has created a new, low cost source of nitrogen for protective atmosphere applications. Numerous carburizing and hardening locations have evaluated membrane systems and have contracted with industrial gas suppliers to utilize this patented on-site supply method. Some applications, however, have been slower to adopt this type of on-site supply due to nitrogen purity requirements. In order to avoid such process problems as scaling, intergranular oxidation, and decarburization, as well as oxidation of certain furnace components, these atmospheres require purities.
