Double-twist bunching machines are used to produce many constructions of copper wires and aluminum wires. The constructions that are produced include flexible con- ductors, 7-strand rigid, 19-strand unilay, 19-strand combination unilay, 37-strand unilay, compressed strands, compacted strands, etc. This paper presents the current state of double-twist bunching technology, the methodology used to produce various constructions and the trends expected for the use of double-twist machinery.
