Approximately one hundred years ago, Dr. Charles Stewart of Easton, Pennsylvania began to record a series of reminiscences about the family-owned, water-powered, wire company that he had managed in the 19th Century. At some point, prior to his death in 1917, he arranged to have his manuscript typed. After he died, the 38-page typescript was deposited in the reference files of the Easton Public Library. This remarkable document contains numerous observations about the wire industry in general that in many ways as still applicable today.
