A study investigating an increase in the frequency of wire breaks during drawng on wet wiredrawing machines is presented. Correspondence between die lineup and the occurrence of wire breaks led to the design of experimental lineups that were tested on customers machines. The results of this study and a method for designing lineups for slip type wet wiredrawing machines are given.
