Drawn ferrous wire with improved surface properties

$15.00

The process of fine wiredrawing is complex and the surface conditions of the drawn wire play an important role in tribological applications. This paper reflects on the method of surface treatment, the necessary and sufficient elements for the process developed. In the process, annealing creates a surface that is friendly to lubricants. Some solution chemistry is involved in the pretreatment preceding the final draw, which allows properties of drawn wire to be altered without altering the lattice chemistry of drawn wire surface.
