Effect of strain hardening exponent on the occurrence of central burst in aluminum wiredrawing process

$15.00

This paper is concerned with the effect of strain hardening exponent on the prediction of central burst defect in aluminum wires. The major conclusion of this study is that, for a range of combinations of drawing conditions, geometrical parameters, and strain hardening exponent, central burst can be predicted in wiredrawing. Based upon the results, the possibility of occurrence of central burst increases with decreasing strain hardening exponent.
