Description
A detailed study has been conducted on continuously cast copper rod to determine the effects of oxygen content, in the range of 10-1000 parts per million, upon annealing behavior of drawn wire. The half-hard annealing temperature, annealing kinetics, spiral elongation values, hardness annealability results, activation energy for recrystallization, times to achieve softening, and final mechanical properties have been determined as a function of prior cold work and oxygen content.
