Drawing high carbon steel wire requires delta factors below 1.5. Normal 12 to 16 entry angle dies usually will not completely accomplish this requirement. Most drawers and die houses don’t stock the required lower angle dies. A straight forward method to calculate the correct starting high angle die to produce a desired low angle die is derived and presented.
