This paper reviews the long-range research programs of the electrical Insulation Research Center (EIRC) in the area, primarily, of power distribution cable materials (5-69 kv). Other studies of shorter range have been conducted, for example, on fiberglass rods, transformer oils and failure of cables and accessories.
