Wiredrawing lubricants can cause deteriorative effects if not removed from the wire before the annealing, pickling, coating or plating processes. This paper discusses electrocleaning techniques to remove lubricants. The benefits are summarized and a method to measure the effectiveness of electrocleaning is described. Results of actual field tests are presented.
