Eliminating high speed wire vibration effects in on-line diameter measurement

$15.00

A new technique has been developed to electronically filter out the effects of line vibration when measuring wire and cable diameters. Combining digital signal processing, Fuzzy Logic, and statistical analysis in a real time optical gauge application, this non-contact method can be used to accurately measure drawn wire diameters at line speeds of 7000 feet/min or more, or soft coated wire without the need for mechanical contact guidance systems.
