Steps taken at the electrical plant of John A. Roebling’s Sons Division of Colorado Fuel and Iron Corp to standardize and control taping practices for electrical cable are outlined. Selection of the least expensive tape and application method, standard taping practices based on product diameter, minimization of pad sizes, creation of master tape charts, and establishment of procedures for new products are discussed.
