Excellence through quality: a total quality improvement approach

$15.00

A program undertaken by the Union Carbide Polyolefins Specialties Division for quality improvement is described. The rationale for choosing the approach of ‘total quality management’, using Dr. J.M. Juran as a consultant, is described, and the goals, organization, training, and implementation of the project covered. The process was highly successful; for a cost of 1 million dollars for the program, the resulting cost reduction directly realized was 3 million dollars, with 3 million in new contracts seen.
