Experimental investigation of external thread rolling

$15.00

An in-plant study was performed to characterize the effects of blank diameter, material composition and pitch on thread profile development in flat die thread rolling. The primary objective was to develop better insight of the stages of metal flow during rolling and how it is impacted by different process parameters. An additional objective was to validate finite element models that have been developed to simulate the thread rolling process.
