In this age of technology, every day newand better metal alloys are being developed. Screws and barrels are basically metal alloys. Therefore, one is faced with choosing the best material for screw and barrel needs out of a choice of thousands of alloys; all of which make an engineer’s task very difficult. This paper will provide a guide to narrow the choices down to a few, depending upon the plastic being used. It will also touch on the why and the economics behind the recommendations.
