During superfine wire drawing operations of copper and steel, wire breaks may occur. Inclusions are a frequent cause of wire breaks. An analysis of the deformation behavior of the inclusions in superfine wiredrawing using a finite element method has been investigated. Effect of the inclusion diameter on the wire breaks is clarified.
