FEM analysis of working capacity and deformation resistance in conical die

Distributions of longitudinal, circumferential and radial stresses in a deformation zone of the die have been determined for an elastic-plastic and rigid-plastic approach of finite elements method with the FORGE2 program for drawing high carbon steel rope wire. On the basis of those stresses, distributions of a working capacity ‘Z’ and deformation resistance ‘r’ in a deformation zone for a surface of the wire.
