FEM modeling of drawing of wires for prestressed concrete

$15.00

In this work FEM analysis of the effect of die angle on strain, strain rate, stress and temperature distributions in the deformation zone has been performed for drawing of wires for prestressed concrete. Wires were drawn in five passes from 5.6 mm to 2.50 at a speed of 0.85 m/s in dies with die angles 2a equal to 8 degrees, 12 degrees, 15 degrees and 18 degrees. Drawn stresses were also calculated and compared with measured values.
