Ferrous inclusion detector for improved copper rod quality

$15.00

Use of an in-line ferrous inclusion detector during the production of hot-rolled copper rod indicates the presence of surface and subsurface magnetic inclusions. Testing by the continuous in-line detector has shown a significant improve ment over eddy current inspection in detecting magnetic mate rials which may contact the copper during casting and rolling. Correlation of copper rod inspection data with wire drawing performance reveals a significant potential for reducing inclusion related wire breaks.
