Fiber optic insertion into coiled stainless steel tubing: analysis

$15.00

This two-part paper presents a method of inserting fiber optics into coiled stainless steel tubing with blown air. It is divided into two sections. Part 1 summarizes the fluid mechanics analysis; the second paper presents the experimental results of inserting fiber into a 100 Mt coiled SST tubing. Although this work proves the validity of the method for 100 Mt coiled tubing, it can easily be extrapolated for longer distances. In the same way, the analysis can be applied to insert other types of cables or fiber into coiled tubing.
