FROM MOLTEN METAL TO ‘CONFORMED’ ALUMINUM PROFILES” Continuous Properzi and Outokumpu Holton

$15.00

It has been recognized for some time that considerable savings in production costs and processing times could be made by directly feeding a Conform™ machine with continuously cast bar. This paper will describe a method (referred to as C3L) in which continuously cast bar with a cross-section of up to 300 mm2 is fed directly into a Conform™ machine to produce aluminum profiles and wire for use in cable and other sectors. The technical and commercial benefits that derive from this unique combination of proven technologies will be presented.
