From molten metal to overhead conductors

$15.00

The vast majority of EC grade aluminum rod produced worldwide is used in the production of high voltage overhead conductor cable. A new Properzi process in the final stages of development has been designed to produce finished wire directly from molten aluminum at the rate of 30 metric tons per day. The finished wire of suitable dimensions is then coiled directly onto bobbins, ready to be mounted on stranding machines. AAC, ASRC and AAC conductors made with 1350, 6101, 6201 and 5005 aluminum alloys are discussed.
