Further steps in copper scrap refining and subsequent CCR copper rod production

$15.00

Ten years ago LaFarga Lacambra SA started producing Fire Refined High Conductivity (FRHC) copper rod from mill berry, resulting in first class copper rod. Now a new refining technique allows second and third class copper scrap to be used as the starting material for the production of Continuous Casting and Rolling (CCR) copper rod, with more than 101 percent IACS conductivity and very good drawability. This paper outlines the techniques related to the reverberatory furnace, shaft furnace and Properzi CCR line.
