Some physical characteristics of glass yarn used as a component of nonmetallic-sheathed building cable are considered. Test results regarding breaking strength under a variety of conditions are presented and compared with results on other nonmetallic coverings. The flame resistance, high strength, and resistance to moisture and vapors evidenced in glass coverings are discussed.
