Heat-resistant colour coatings for a new generation of spring wires

$15.00

In recent years, Bekaert developed a new range of zinc-aluminum coated steel wires especially designed for critical spring applications. This paper highlights the performance of these wires in a variety of tests, relevant to spring manufacturing and properties, and also elaborates on the development of a cost-competitive and dedicated polymer coating which has the potential to make the post-coating step on springs redundant because of its resistance to stress relieving temperatures while safeguarding corrosion resistance, flexibility, and colour stability.
