Heavy-metal-free colorants for PBT fiber optic buffer tubes

$15.00

Because of growing environmental concerns and government regulations directed at so-called heavy-metal pigments, we embarked on a research program to reformulate color concentrates for PBT fiber optic buffer tubes with heavy-metal-free colorants. In our research we compared standard and alternate formulations for several important properties, including cost, color, opacity, heat resistance, and hydrolytic stability. We also evaluated the effects of the heavy-metal-free alternatives on processibility and mechanical properties.
