Description
One of the main concerns in the initiatives for implementing quality systems such as ISO 9000 are the total costs and potential benefits involved in obtaining and maintaining registration. In addition to the direct “out-of-pocket costs” there are hidden costs and benefits more important and transcendental that must be considered before entering this type of effort. Discussions regarding hidden costs and benefits in the process to design, implement and obtain certificates of ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems will be presented in this paper.
