Sumitomo Metals and Daishin Steel Wire Corp. have built a new plant to produce high-quality fine wire for tire bead. The wire for the bead is required particularly for less three-dimensional wave (less curvature and less torsion) to reduce problems during the tire bead production, such as poor passability through automated machines. A quantitative analysis to evaluate the three-dimensional wave has also been studied, theoretically and experimentally.
