The composition and casting procedure for Amzirc copper and Amax-MZC copper alloy are presented. The production and mechanical properties of wire from these materials is discussed. Elevated temperature properties of the materials are also considered. Applications include aircraft and missile wire, commutators, electrical switches, solderless wrapped connectors, stud bases, resistance welding tips and wheels, and wheel molds for continuous casting.
