High temperature superconductor cable to power a manufacturing operation

$15.00

This paper will describe a three-year project to build a high temperature superconductor (HTSC) cable project to supply power to three manufacturing plants. Three phases, each 30 meters long, will operate a 12.5 Kv and 1250 amps. The project is due to be powered up at the end of 1999. Also included is a brief discussion of HTSC development and today’s superconducting materials.
