Ni-plated steel wire used for springs has good corrosion resistance and has been much in demand as an alternative for stainless steel wire in less-restricted corrosive environments. The authors have conducted basic research into differences in processing conditions at the final pass using emulsion type lubricant oil. This paper also considers customers’ requirements for not only lubricating ability, but also surface gloss.
