Improvement of drawability of shape-memory alloy wire

$15.00

This paper discusses an attempt to improve the drawability of shape-memory wire by conventional die drawing and roller die drawing. The authors prepared Fe, Ni-Ti, and Cu shape-memory alloy wire. The results showed that, under optimum drawing conditions, the drawing limit of Ni-Ti shape-memory alloy wire could be raised by up to 70%, and that drawability can be improved by removing the brittle layers on the Fe alloy wire surface.
