Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., started operation of a newly constructed continuous casting (CC) machine in Kokura Steel Works in June, 1995. Advanced tundish technology and other new technologies have been introduced in the new CC machine, which actualizes super clean and low-segregated steel cord, valve spring and bearing steel production.
