The ultraviolet acrylate composite coat system is investigated for improving coatings of optical waveguide fibers. This paper reports the improvements made on the secondary and primary coatings which altered the surface frictional properties and mechanical strippability of Corguide ™ optical fibers relative to the previous acrylate coatings.
