Inclusion controlled wire rods for steel tire cord application

$15.00

A quality evaluation method developed by Kobe Steel Ltd. for determining main defects of wire rods causing breakage in the steel wire tire cord manufacturing process is described. Using a bloom continuous caster, fracture surfaces were evaluated by the quantitiy of harmful inclusions (massive alumina and aluminate) in the residues obaned by filtering a nitric acid solution in which wire rods were dissolved.
