Increased productivity in wiredrawing using UPCAST® copper rod

$15.00

Using UPCAST® copper rod as feedstock material in super fine wire and multilane wire drawing machines may significantly improve the productivity of a wire drawing plant by increasing drawing speeds and by minimizing wire breaks. The high ductility of UPCAST helps to reduce the number of breaks during processing the rod to fine and superfine sizes. A key requirement is using high quality rod and correct setting of annealing parameters. This paper presents actions that a wire manufacturer can take during different stages of rod and wire production to maximize the productivity of modern multilane wire and fine wire drawing machines.
