Influence of secondary steelmaking on occurrence of non- metallic inclusions in high-carbon steel for tire cord

$15.00

During drawing of high-carbon steel wire rod for tire cord, wire breakage is sometimes caused by an undeformable inclusion such as A12 O3. In order to prevent breakage from such undeformable inclusions it is important to decrease the amount of alumina base inclusions and to control the inclusion morphology. A manufacturing process based upon thermodynamic considerations and fundamental experiments is described.
